Red Fort Delhi

The red fort was the residence of the Mughal emperor for nearly 200 years ,until 1857 .it is located in the centre of Delhi and houses a number of museums .in addition to accommodating the emperors and their households .it was the ceremonial and political centre of Mughal government and the setting for event critically impacting the region .Constructed in 1648 by the fifth Mughal emperor Shah Jahan as the palace of his fortified capital Shahjananbad ,the red fort is names for its massive enclosing walls of red sandstone and its adjacent to the older Salimgarh fort ,built by the Islam shah suri in 1546 .the imperial apartments consist of a row of pavilions ,connected by the water channel known as the stream of paradise( Nahr-i-Behisht)

Amer Fort, Jaipur 

Amer Fort is located in Amer a town with an area of 4 square kilo meters located 11 kilo meters from Jaipur ,Rajassthan state ,India located high on a hill .it is the principal tourist attraction in the Jaipur area .The town of Amer was originally built by Meenas ,and later it was ruled by Raja Man Singh I (December 21,1550-July 06 1664 ) Amer fort is known for its artistic Hindu style elements .with its large ramparts and series of gates and gobbled paths ,the fort overlooks maota lake .It is the main source of water for the Amer palace.the aesthetic ambiance of the palace is seen within its walls .The palace was the residence of the Rajput maharajahs and their families.

Agra Fort

Agra fort is the former imperial residence of the Mughal Dynasty Located in Agra , is also a UNESCO world heritage site and is about 2.5 km northwest of its more famous sister monument ,The Taj Mahal .The fort can be more accurately described was a walled city.the present day structured was built by the Mughals ,though a fort had stood there since at least the 11th century .Agra fort was originally a brick fort known as a Badalgarh ,held by Raja Badal Singh Hindu Sikarwar Rajput King(1475).

Mehrangarh fort ,Jodhpur

Mehrangarh fort located in Jodhpur ,Rajasthan is one of the largest fort in India .built around 1460 by Rao Jodha ,the fort is situated 410 feet above the city and is enclosed by imposing thick walls .inside the boundaries there are several palaces known for their intricate carvings and expensive courtyards .a winding road leads to and from the city below.the imprints of cannonballs hits by attacking armies of Jaipur can still be seen on the second the left of the fort is the chatri of Kirat Singh Soda ,a soldier who fell on the spot defending the Meharangarh fort.The museum in the Mehrangarh fort is one of the well stocked museums in Rajasthan. 

Gwalior Fort,Madhya Pradesh

Gwalior fort is an 8th century hill fort near Gwalior.Madhya Pradesh central India the fort consists of a defencive structure and two main palaces,Gujrari Mahal and man mandir built by Man Singh Tomar .The fort has been controlled by a number of different rules in it history .The Gujrari Mahal palace was built for queen Mrignayani .It is now an archaeological museum The oldest record of zero in the world was found in a small temple ,which is located on the way to the top .the inscription is around 1500 years old.

Chittorgarh Fort 

Chittor garh fort is one of the largest fort in india .it is world heritage site.the fort popularly known as Chittor,was capital of Mewar and is today situated in was initially ruled by guhilot and later by sisodias ,the suryavanshi clans of chattari rajputs ,from the 7 the century ,untill it was finally abndoned in 1568 after the siege by emperor akbar in 1567 .it sprawls majestically over a hill 180 m in height spread over an area of 280 hector above the planes of the valley drained by the Berach River .

Kangra Fort

The kangra Fort is located 20 kilometers from the town of Dharmashala on the out skirts of the town of Kangra ,India .The Kangra Fort was built By the Royal Rajput family of kangra state ,which traces its origins to the ancient trigatta kingdom ,mentioned in the Mahabharata epic.It is the largest fort in the Himalayas and probably the oldest dated fort in India.

Purana Qila, Delhi

Purana quila is one of the oldest fort in delhi.Its current form was built by the Afghan king sher shah suri .sher shah raised the citadel of purana quila with an extensive city area sprawling around seems that the purana quila was still incomplete at sher shah death 1545 and was perhaps completed by his son islam shah ,although it is not certain which parts were built by whom.
